What is Aviator and Why is it so Popular?

Aviator is a real-money crash game built around a decision of cashing out in time before the plane flying on screen crashes. Before the game starts, everyone in the lobby places their bets, and the plane takes off with the multiplier starting at 1.00x and going up as the game progresses.
